Most west-australians these days think of Bali when planning an overseas holiday, not me! 2011's first adventure is going to be all about Cambodia (with a little bit of Thailand & Vietnam too!). I've had plenty of confused looks and questions about why would I want to go there especially when I tell them that I'm going by myself. And to that I say, Why not? Where else can you eat deep fried tarantulas? :D
So my itinerary goes something like this: Fly out from Perth about 1:30am (ouch) Easter Friday. Randomly found out that my boss is leaving to go to Vietnam at the same time just with a different airline, it'll be a race to Saigon :) Get into KL in time for breakfast then not long after catch another flight across to Vietnam arriving before lunch. I'll be travelling around Saigon for a day & a half. Then it's off to Cambodia for the next 6 days, exploring temples like Indiana Jones and eating lots of weird food! After that I have almost a whole day of travelling just to get across the border and into Bangkok. Will be spending just one day/night there partying it up before having to fly back home :( The first Monday back at work after that is going to be tough!!Only have 2 months to go now and am getting excited/nervous. Haven't got much left to organise, really just need to get a new camera. It should be quite an interesting adventure!
